Ice Systems recently installed an industrial flake ice machine at a busy bakery in Sheffield, UK. Brook Bakery had been using multiple smaller commercial ice machines that frequently failed and caused disruptions in production. Seeking a more reliable and efficient solution, they contacted Ice Systems to explore their options.
Following an initial consultation, we first provided an F1AR machine on a four-week trial. This smaller unit demonstrated the benefits of flake ice for the bakery, leading the customer to request a larger F2AR model to take advantage of the increased capacity and year-round use. The installation was completed with minimal disruption, saving valuable floor space and making sure the full factory was supplied with ice.
The bakery had previously used commercial ice machines producing chip ice and had never worked with flake ice before. We explained that flake ice releases cooling energy rapidly and dissipates quickly, making it ideal for bakeries. The new machine has done the following:
One machine replaces multiple smaller units.
A single machine supplies ice for the entire factory.
Less energy and water consumption.
Consistent ice supply, even during the summer months.
